Travel Hack: Rent a car one way (yes… ONE WAY) for next to nothing through 6/30/18 if you meet these guidelines

I know it may seem like we’ve dropped off the face of the earth lately, but don’t worry (not that you were “worried”, but humor me, lol), that couldn’t be further from the truth. Sometimes we see a ton of great deals all at once, other times (like during the busy Spring Break season) we don’t see much. A lot of travel sites will happily bombard you with crap during these down times to drive traffic for no reason, but we’re not about that life. We promised to only post the good stuff, and we’re sticking to it. That said: on to the good stuff!

I know this isn’t exactly breaking news, but winter sucks. Unless you’re into winter sports or you just hate yourself, nobody likes winter. What do people do when they’ve had enough of winter? They go to Florida! We were guilty of this for sure. A few months ago I was shoveling another 2 feet of snow and questioning my life choices and AS SOON as I got back in the house and my hands thawed out to the point where I could use a keyboard again I booked a $20 flight on Frontier to Tampa. We decided to take a much needed break from the frozen wasteland of New York and go to Disney World on points. When we got there we were blown away by how many people were doing the same thing. After a day or two of having people ask where we were from, I stopped saying “New York… about an hour north of the city” and started saying “Fishkill” since 90% of the people we ran into were from the Hudson Valley anyway. Like us, they were tired of winter and decided to bail. I don’t blame them.

The mass desire to get out of the northeast means that airlines and rental car companies to gangbusters business all winter, but it also means that they have a serious problem when Spring rolls around. That’s where you come in.

One way car rentals are generally ridiculously expensive, so it seems amazing that you could score one for less than $10 per day. That said, rental car companies don’t do this out of the goodness of their hearts. Every spring they find themselves with a ton of inventory sitting in Florida and are forced to move it back up north. Shipping cars is expensive so they would much rather have you do the work for them… even if it means you can rent a car for peanuts as long as you promise to get it out of Florida.

If you’re a road tripper this is great opportunity to find a cheap one way flight to Florida (which you can easily do for as little as $20 on Frontier and then go on a road trip, hitting some fun spots in Florida and on the way back from Florida. Here are some of the offers we found, along with the conditions…
